Unhandled Exception!

I have see a lot of help offered on this subject but , however, everone seems to a a different problem to mine. i can load the game and fool around with the ships and crew, and move around the Hexs, but whenever i try to start a mission or run the pre-saved fight scenes the game crashes and displays this message:

I don't have a clue what its on about. i have all the newist drivers and versions that i think i need, i have a slow comp and an old GPU but its more than double the requirements.
Help would be much appreciated!

first things first, delete the AllScripts.cache file, located in the Assets/Scripts folder. Next, is this a stock game, modded, or patched?

It looks like it's patched. In the error message posted, it says Version 1.01 Build 534. Have you altered the game any (adding ships, installing mods, altering files)?

i just have the sfc3 patch 1.01beta2 build v534b installed and thats it.

i've removed the AllScripts file.

though I've never seen this work, the nature of your error report may possibly be the cause of this. Go to your game folder, right click the SFC3.exe file, click properties. In the Compatability tab, check the box next to Disable Visual Themes. Like I said, I've never actually seen this work, but since your error was in rendering and textureing files, it could be the problem.

The same error message still appears. Could the file be damaged at all?, is there anywhere i could get a copy of the file?
