Proper way to add a ship What is the correct way to add a ship? I attempted to download several ships. but don't see them when i play the game. What I attempted was to download and just unzip into my C:\Program Files\Activision\Sfc3\Assets\Models directory What else do I do? |
Re: Proper way to add a ship You also need to add their specifications to the DefaultCore.txt and DefaultLoadOut.txt files (under Assets\Specs). The tutorials are very helpful, and describe the content of those files. If you have a patch like 534b, there's another field called "ShipSize" to consider. Oh, and you have to pray to the Prophets that your ship shows up in the shipyard! Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, and it doesn't make any sense. Sometimes they show up after you buy another ship. |
Re: Proper way to add a ship I have installed the Generations at War mod, which I really enjoy. I'd like to have the Galaxy-X as the Fed battleship, instead the Armada. What I'd like to do is simply to change the Armada model with the Galaxy-X one which (hopefully) can be found on the sfc3 filefront page) and leave the stats of the armada as they are, maybe only change the name of the class. Is it possible to do this? Also what do I have to do in order to remove the ships I don't like from the game? |
Re: Proper way to add a ship Well, first, read my guide: http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.c...mand_III;40632 Next, you'll look through the specs and copy the line that describes the Armada and paste it and change the model name portion to the Galaxy-X or whatever the model's folder is named... To remove ships, just delete that ship's line in the specs... |
Re: Proper way to add a ship Thank you very much - that was fast... :) |
