Here is a small tip for Windows Vista users (may seem obvious, but I have already posted the same tip to three other problems). This also helps XP

When you install SFC3 to C:\Program Files\Activision\SFC3 make sure that 'FULL CONTROL' Permissions are granted to your username.

This Guide has been great. i still reference it every once in a while even after i have added about 30 ships to the game. i think the total memory the game takes up now is about 1.2 GB. now that i have pretty much mastered the adding and editing i want to expand upon the weapons. i have already gone through and adjusted each weapons damage to make the game more accurate and challenging but some ships are from other sci-fi series. i was wondering how i would create and add several new weapons to the game.

Can't add new weapons without having to alter the source code...

can't y'all(the shipmakers) just do like they do for demon renegade studios ship dls and just add a suggested specs file with the ship, so that we wouldn't have to dl this file

Sad to say the guild dose nothing for me. I need Real help! this is the part i dont understand...
The following will show you how to easily add a ship to Sfc3. We will be using the "Gtea-Miranda" which can be downloaded here
Sometimes included with a model is a readme, this generally tells you where to place the model's folder and on rare occasions includes predefined specs. But if it doesn't you'll have to make them it yourself.
First, you have to extract the model's folder into the “C:\Program Files\Activision\Sfc3\Assets\Models” folder, make sure the name of the folder matches the name of the MOD files (name, name_brk), BS (nameBS), TI (nameTI), and VL (nameVL) images, and GF files inside the folder (These must match, you cannot just put the name of the folder there and expect the game to automatically know what the MOD file is), so rename the folder from Gtea-Miranda to Miranda to match.
Now, copy one of the lines of specs in the DC that best matches the ship you want to add, now I would copy the Norway's specs, example of spec......

Is there a thread somewhere that tells me how to fix an invalid ship? I am getting the following message but have no idea how to fix it.

"Chabot_Refit OverLoaded Hull or Bridge space"

Collectively, the hull items of bridge items exceed the max mass allowed as specified in the DefaultCore. Find the LoadOut and remove the hull/bridge items, re-add them in-game, and copy the saved CustomLoadOut to the DefaultLoadOut replacing the problematic LoadOut.

Greenvalv,
Could you please release a v1.03 of this guide and remove the part that tell users to install dx9fix?

Thanks.
