is there a way to make gravity different on one part of a map than another?

Hi, i was thinking of making a map of a deck of a starship where inside gravity is normal, but outside it is very low.

Hope anyone can help.

You will be able to in EF1 when the 1.3 pach is relesed. Its quite easy to do from when i was playing with the beta, but you will have to wait till its relese. I have no clue if its possible in EF2, i have never tried.

speaking of gravity, is there a way to create something like water, that you can move freely in, but it won't hurt you if you stay in too long, and doesn't make that warped "in water" effect?

If this is for EF1, all you would have to do for that is create a brush with the common/ladder texture on it. When you move inside the brush, you will be free to move in any direction you want, but you won't sink to the bottom when you stay still.

is there any way to make it so it doesn't make the ladder sound?

You'd think you should. Remember the USS Dallas level?

Nope, unfortunatly there is no way to stop that ladder sound from playing.

Xeno is right in that you can change the gravity of a level...
It's changed by this script line which you put in your mapname.scr file:

$world.physicsvar ( "gravity" , 200 );

It *might* be possible to setup different gravity zones.. I'm not really sure. The Dallas script is quite long and hard to follow.. but I'd suggest starting there... the script is found in pak10.pk3, the file is called m3l1a-forever.scr
