i cant get ef2 to read my pk3s?? here's a link to the pk3.. plz help
 

i'm having problems with trying to make pk3's with winzip and winrar. they just don't work. when i make one with windows xp zip it does work. no matter which program i use to make it, the directory structures stay intact so its really confusing. if i have to use windows compress thats fine, but it is completely annoying when i have to recreate the pk3 instead of just modifying one file at a time.

apparently this one works. i made it with windows xp zip...

(the pk3 is located in the .rar file)

i just made a zip with winrar and changed it to pk3 the same way i have been doing and it works now. go figure. it is apparently something on my side thats wrong.

question.. do you need to include every file in the g-gun folder as well as the viewmodel and worldmodel folders? i didn't change all of the files so it seems unnecessary to include all of them.

oh by the way that gun has a new sound effect. i always disliked the TPD in ef2, i think mine is better :P

I know that when using Winzip to make pk3's, the default settings will always work. (If you try to use the maximum compression setting, for example, some problems do occur).

Nope, you don't need to include all the g-gun files, just the ones you have modified :)
