Changing Default skin for SP

Hello All,
I have some new "head" tga files that I want to use instead of the default head tga files. When I place these files in the appropriate directorys (from the models/players/skin_name/) and edit the skin files with the new default head texture and torso texture, but when I start the mod, I still see the red uniform. Anyone have any information on the correct way to replace the default texture for the player and npc's for a mod.

Thanks

Did you put them in a pk3 with the "zzzzzzz-nameoffile.pk3" filename?

I made a basemod.pk3 file and placed the new tga and skin files in models/players/munro directory and placed this pk3 file in my mod directory.

That's your problem. "basemod" comes before "pak0" on the alphabet. If you want to overwrite anything, the first letter must be "q-z" to go after "p". The engine loads things alphabetically, so the farther back in the alphabet, the later it will load.

But since he's loading it in his own mod folder, all those files will overwrite anything in the baseEF folder so he doesn't need to put any "zzzzz"s or anything.
