Removing Ships

I have been problems, of removing ships,
My Bridge Commander game, can't be launched anymore, because it is too big for my computer, I added to much ships and other stuff,

And one problem, it seems i can not remove them, in the screen in the game, and in the main folder of the game,

Need some help with it, cause I want to play Bridge Commander again, and this problem has been out for a long time now, but now it is critical!

Re: Removing Ships

Have you tried simply uninstalling the game, manually removing residual files and folders and installing it again?

manually?
That would take god knows how long,
I tried 1 ship manually, but in the game i can still schoose the ship, i want that you can no longer choose the ship when you go in battle

Yes, manually, but uninstall the game first and then manually delete all residual files. It doesn`t matter if it takes long as long as it gets the job done.

I`m pretty sure uninstalling the game will do the trick. What`s so hard about uninstalling the game, manually removing residual files and folders, rebooting computer, installing the game again, patching it, etc.? I know it`s a drag and takes long, but I see no other way of getting rid of those ships. You do have legal copy of the game, right?

very few problems actually require a complete reinstall.

You have to be absolutely sure you have removed all the script files (both .py and .pyc) for each of your ships that you need to remove.

that's the Scripts/Ships files, the Scripts/Ships/Hardpoint files and the Scripts/Custom/Ships files. again both the .py and the .pyc from all of them. then ofcourse you can remove the Textures and models and what not.

Actually the Scripts/Custom/Ships .py and .pyc files are the lynchpin once you remove those, your ship should no longer appear in the QB menus. And ofcourse you cannot remove a stock ship without extensive scripting.

Re: Removing Ships

Actually, removing a stock ship isn't that hard. I made up a file that you drop in scripts\Custom\Ships and it removes all stock ships.

Re: Removing Ships

Would you mind uploading that file to filefront? That would negate some difficultly I've been having with replacing stock ships.

Sure thing. Keep in mind, this removes everything stock (ships, bases, etc.) Anything you want back, just look for them in the plugin and delete the corresponding lines. Also, change the extension from .txt to .py for this to work.
