Default Model Property Editor crashes

I've been trying to follow the tutorial included in the slipstream framework mod, however the Model Property Editor keeps crashing at this step:

"Scroll down and locate Slipstream Drive 1 Local Template, press OK."

(An error has occurred etc...)

Does anyone know what causes it and how to fix it?
(I'm running Windows XP)

Thanks in advance.

I thought it was appropriate to post it in this forum because I have a Problem with an Error, that's why i'm looking for Help . And I don't think the crashing has anything to do with the slipstream mod or an error in the tutorial.

youre trying to put in a *Slipstream* Property... youre having problems with *MPE* doing so...
hence the more specific forums i mentioned just for two those things
or perhaps try using the search function, i am fairly sure this (or something very much like it) has been brought up here at FF as well as at BCS...

in either event, ive recommended you to post in the Slipstream Tech Support Forum since in this instance youre having an issue installing a Slipstream Property onto a ship...
it's up to you to try areas that might receive more specific and faster attention...

Ok, I've searched around as you suggested and have found a few topics about the same problem

On FF:
MPE Problem
Big problem with MPE
Problem...

on BCS:TNG:
MPE Problem

There are no solutions in these topics, unfortunately.

PS
could this topic be moved to the MPE forum?

Make sure you have "Scene Root" selected in the tree in the right-hand side of the main window. You should then be able to add and remove properties from that node.
You may have to expand the main window for the right-hand side to show up. As you can see in the screenshot I posted it didn't show up for me at first.
