After being a long time player of BC i think my copy has bit the dust it was giveing me odd error messages like couldnt port so and so to c drive when i install i just got it re surfaced and it looks like new but it still gives me the same error

I would say that it is too badly scuffed to salvage, if you hurry there are some cheap ones for sale on Ebay

and if you are a smart guy...you are allowed to make a for home use copy of the disc....so make an image and prevent the original disc for further use
