Default abnormal program termination

Downloaded someof the latest ships from the last week or so and installed them via BCMP.

Loaded up BC and looked in my various mutators menu. I enabled one that I hadn't realised was disabled: something along the lines of a group fleet overide or something?

Started a QBR2.2 game, but the enemy ships were just flying around on red alert. so I quit the game, and hit quickbattle (instead of going back to the mutator menu). Then it crashed.

Now, whenever I start BC, i get the following abnormal program message:

"D3D Render Creation Error

Error string from renderer was: "Creation failed: desired fullscreen display mode not sorted"".

I've restarted, tried running from the CD, uninstalled, but left all the downloaded stuff there and installed again all to the same result. Loaded Doom 3 so there doesn't seem to be any probs with my card.

Any ideas guys?

Stress should! I had to reinstall after this (deleting it didn't work). The strange thing was I already had a clean install I was going to prepare for multiplayer, as well as my modded install, so I had one with the error above (modded one) and one without any errors at all. Very annoying... shows the delight of making backups though.

sometimes i wonder too btw, nice avvie!

the reason you need to delete options.cfg is because it causes some errors with DX9.0c (something with legacy files)...

Kewl guys thanks! It sure worked. Wish I had come here before reinstalling BC TWICE and some others, like EOL.

Signature reminds me of ST: First Contact, but it can't be...
