I need ALOT of help...
 

i have just got bridge commander and i have downloaded the enemys for life mod. i have also got the things u need foer that like BC-mod installer and BC-mod packager, but i cant get anything to work :uhoh: in the game i have the new ships on it but they dont have any weapons etc and when i got to use one of the new downloaded things and it crashes the game :( i just can't figure out how to get everything working...can some one please help me

Can you give a more detailed description of your problem?

sorry about that but yeah its my first post :)

well when im in the BC files, it says that the BC mod has failed so i can't get into certain files etc.

and when im in the game and in quick battle. if i chose somethink like the intrepid class as one of the ships, then the game would crash. with all of the new ships it doesn't say anything when it shows a description of the ship and it's armament.

i just have no idea on how to get it working :(

First of all very few modded ships have descriptions so I dnt think thats anything to worry about.In the readme have a look at the requirements and make sure you have them all if you dnt they'll likely be available at www.bcfiles.com

that sounds like a hardpoint file prob... thats usually the thing that causes these probs... i got that soooo many times... ok so wot ur gona do is chek that all ur hardpoint files are there (scrips/ships/hardpoints) usually a hardpoint file comes wit the ship... if the hardpoint for a certain ship isnt there, look 4 it in the folder that the ship came in (or u can download a new 1)... if the hardpoint is there, open bcmp (bc mod packager) and go to the checker, if it says that all files r found, there shouldnt b a prob. i dont no wot else it could b... i have had that prob heaps of times, and its always been a prob with the hardpoint...

oh, actually, if the game starts, then u go to fire a torp or a disruptor and then the game freezes, thats a missing projectile file. if thats the case, tell me and ill let u no how to fix it in next time lol, its 12.30am in sydney, and im really tired lol... :sleep:

thank you for that info :) i think thats the problem. most of the files in there are opened with acrobat reader and when i go to open them it says that it can't be opened by acrobat reader cuz it may be corrupted etc :(
and when i use note pad to open it it's just aload of symbols

I think your best bet at this stage is to uninstall bc,delete everything in the bc folder,install it again and then beginning with bc patch 1.0 start installing all your mods again.It'll take time but it sounds like it may be easier than messing around with hardpoint files.Wait for a while and c if anyone else knows what the problem is first though.

yeah i got rid of everything cuz i couldn't run it at all...i think i'll complete the single player first before i add anything to it :)

ok ive finished the missions now and i want to star downloading things,
i have downloaded the patch, and the BCMP full version (V4.4) and i have tryed to download the USS Defiant. It says that the BC-Mod would auto matically install it, but it doesn't and everytime i try to open the BCMP i have to unpack it everytime :(
i just dont undersdtand it and i have no idea how to make things right :((

it says that i need the BCMI as well but i dont know how to do a windows update so i can't download it :(
any one have any ideas on what to do?

You need to select 'Windows Update' on your start menu.
Make sure you download the .net framework.
Install BCMI.NET, and run it, it will ask you to install Foundation if its not there.
Extract the BCMOD file from its archive.
Double click on the BCMOD file and the ship will install itself.

i can't get BCMI.NET working! it says that i have to uninstall it then re-install it, so i do and the it unpacks it self etc and it goes to open and it just says

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.

my game doesn't work AT ALL! now, i hacve uninstalled it and goten rid o all the files in the folder then installed it again and all it does when i got to play it is crash my computer!
and i have uninstalled it and installed it again at least 7 time because of this but it just wont work anymore :(

Ok, do a windows update and make sure you install all the critical apps.
Defrag your machine.

Load windows in safe mode and try opening BCMI.NET, if it works, then it is conflicting with some other software.

If not try the following.
Uninstall BCMI.NET, uninstal the .NET framework, and reinstall it, reinstall BCMI.NET

If that doesn't work, it could be a problem with your OS.

BCMI.NET doesn't work at all for me :(


I'll try De-fragging the computer as soon as i can :)
when i do a windows update it trys to download Xp service pack 1 or something (can't remember the name) and it goes to install and it says that it can't cuz there might be something on the computer that isn't valid etc.

I think you need SP1 for the .net framework to install.

Try a general support forum to fix your SP1 install problem first. Get all the other critical updates, and then post back her if BCMI is causing probs.

i have tryed what someone told me, and that was to back up the files and reinstall the game and use the back up files to run the game...i tryed it and it didn't work so that must mean that its to do with my computer

also, now my SFC3 doesn't work either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
when u play there is no ship and there are all these bright colours on the screen instead of the game :uhoh:

so what have i got to do to my computer to solve this problem????????????

the thing is i think my computers problems are to do with BC

i managed to complete the game twice before i tryed to get some downloads for it and then it al went wrong

ok, i have had my computer fixed...but i still get the same problem :uhoh:

Do you think that i might have messed up the CD somehow when i tryed to get downloads for it? could that be the problem?
