Urgent request for help in Installing BC!!!
 

Hi all, and to all of you BC lovers :)

I am having problems with BC installation, well, like it said on the title.

First off, I wil write down my system specs since you guys will probably ask for it :D

Relatively low that is.. lol

-Intel Pentium III Processor 750 Mhz
-192 MB of RAM
-Video card, TNT Model 64 with 32 MB of VRAM
-Hard drive space? 6 BG and over 3/4 is occupied constanatly!!!

Problems with the CD
-Well thre are abosolutely no scratches, except some around the inner hole where you put the CD inside
-Also, I dropped it once in about 1m of height (3 feet 4 inches), no scratches

Well, I will tell you what happens.
-I insert the CD, and sometimes an error occurs and I have to shut down my computer.
-If I am lucky, I then click on install, and goes to the setup installshield thing.
-And I have to wait 35 mins (WHY??) until the setup shows up
-I click on yes.. yes.. yes.. and it starts to install
-It goes about 1~7% and suddenly, it either freezes or it gets an error and I have to abort the installation
-Sometimes it went up to 84% until it got the error. but I don't know why it happens. It also happens often in Elite Force Expansion, but it installs if I try installing it about 4 times..

Why, why can't I install this thing? I couldn't play BC for now........ 5 months.. I gotta play it fast or I will probably pass out

Either rub the CD vigorously and radially, or run some sort of diagnostic on your CD drive. Is this the only CD you have problems with? Run windows update to check for more CD drivers.

And what version of windows are you using?

sorry..... I am really dumb in computers and can you tell me how to run diagnostics and stuff you mentioned...? thanks.....

I would also try cleaning your cd drive may be with a drive cleaner i had a very similar problem when installing and what version of windows is it?

Oh, I am sorry... I have windows XP... And how do I clean my CD drive? scrub it or someting? sorry, I really am an idiot i computers... :(
