how do you get it to work? i install it but it don't work.

check the mutator button.

i did. the only thing that works is the ablative armor for the defiant.

i've done some heavy research on this subject, and thankfully i have some modding experience with bc, so i might have fixed it. i hope. it's yet to be seen if i have fixed it.

Have you added the other things to ships? They are not standart.

yes. but it is still a black screen after 2-5 seconds of showing the QB loading screen.

Start up in test mode, ounce their is the black screen press `.
Then enter, and you will see the problem. If you can fix it then do so, if you can't then make a screen dump of it (Print Screen and Ctrl + v in paint or other image program).
And post it here.
