Problem with save games... Hello, I'm busy with a mod of mine (selectable uniform pack), and I need to test it through out the campaign (I have done every character that get's effected), but I can't load any save games, I haven't modded the game between the saving and the loading, and I have started an all new campaign, and before that I deleted my save games. The game won't load a save game, and when I try the game crashes to the desktop, draining about 300 MB of my free harddrive space evry time, and each time I restart the computer that 300 MB is back. If it is the mutator (that I use for my uniforms) that causes the game not to save right, then how can I avoid it from happening again? Please do not come with: "Turn the mutator off." I need to test my mod, you must also know that I can start a new campaign and my uniforms do show up, but I can't play long enough to complete the entire campaign (school work and such). Can anybody help, I have turned off Nano's FX and the inacurate Phasers (I already had turned off the plasma rupture because of Nano's FX)? Could it be the main menu mod that came with the Nano FX? |
Hmm, your best bet would be to try it on a clean install, a pain I know. There's obviously a conflict somewhere. The 300k is probably a windows page file adjustment, or it could be a partially compiled pyc. Other than that, not sure. |
Hmmm... Pity... Besides it was not 300 kilobyte (300k) it was 300 MegaByte (1000*). |
Hm just had a thought, it could be a loop in one of your scripts, so as it compiles it just keeps getting bigger. Or one script calling another and then going back to the first one in a constant loop. |
I'm not sure, but the only mutator that I'm using for testing is a uniform mutator (changes the createcharacter definition in the character files). I have replaced the mainmenu with the one from the BCMP, but now my uniform doesn't show up in SP. |
Hmm, I honestly don't know, scripting is not my forte. I'll move it to the modding forum and see if anyone picks it up. |
I have the same problem - its appeared after installing the shuttle carrier pack. |
