Default Ship install help

Hi all.

I would like some help getting new ships to appear work in BC, i never played BC before until last week when i found a copy at a car-boot sale.
Im having trouble because there is no guide for installing, and many of the mods just say read the readme which are never useful to someone who hasn't a clue what your saying.

Theres only a few ships a want, thats the stargate ones, i have updated BC to 1.1 and cut and pasted all the files in the ship-packs to the root directory, but they don't appear in game.
i have asked around for help but people appear to be quiet rude when i send messages. some have said install nanofx, submenu, sdk, shuttle launch cradle and some things called BCMI and BCMP.

i have got the bcmi but theres no files in the shippacks, and used bcmp which got me somewhere, ie i saw the ship names in a list and added, but then it said open game tgl tab and select the ships from the list and update.... there are on ships in the list its blank. then it mentioned a mutator??

Im sorry if this all sounds stupid, but looks and sounds extremely hard to add ships and with no real guide its even harder for us noobs.

Thanks in advance
Silent lord

Download this file:
BCMI final, Bridge Commander Downloads, Bridge Commander Mod Installers
it has foundation included which is needed for all mods to work.
also there are some requiered mods in the Readme for the Stargate packs so you should install those aswell.

Hi Darth_Harry, i have been reading alot and found that bcmi is useful and im going to use it add others ships. however the bcmi doesn't work for this shippack as there is no bcmi files to work with. although i am hearing alot about foundation.

I have just found another stargate shippack which has a guide so to speak and lists these as requirements:
Requirements = Submenu mod,
Future Technologies (for the drones),
Foundation.
(NanoFX is recommended, but is not neccessary).

what is foundation and where do i get it, i searched BCfiles but got nothing.

As stated in the reaction of Darth Harry, it is IN the bcmi final package..when you run the program you wil get the message the foundation isn't installed...when you click yes the foundation should be installed

I do not answer any PM's, thank you..

Instal BC, path to 1.1, Then add in the foundation (done by running BCMI/BCMP once and agreeing to their demands) THEN add in your ships, one by one checking the readme for things that they need or need not to be.

Under the configuration menu, there should be a new button called mutators. Click on this and you'll be taken to a list of mods and mod categories. Click on the ones you want ("extra ships" being the most obvious one) then they can show up in game.
