Ship Idea

Hello,
I have a GREAT idea for a ship, and I would love to use it in game and put it online for other people to use. I have GMAX 3D editing studio and I was wondering if there was any were to down load like a basic... BASIC star ship template just to give me something to build off of.. a place to start. Also I think I read on one of these forums that ships cant have any moving parts... i don't know what its called. What I mean though is like when voyager (intrepid class star ships) goes into warp, their nacelles go up. Can Bridge commander support that?

So ya thanks for every thing.

i think that in Kobayashi maru 1.0 they somehow managed to get the naceles to rize. in the railer i also saw something that looked like a ship with moving wings (it was dark tho i only saw moving nav lights on the wings)

they also use MVAM infinite (Multi Vector Assault Mode) to rise the nacelles,

and i think that you need a kit bash or something like that, i believe, i am not a shipbuilder myself

There are loads of ship models out there in various formats (even bcfiles has a models only section with models in different formats).

One way to get started would be to grab the trial version of milkshape and directly import some of the .nifs from the game itself. You should be able to get the hang of the common functions in both programs, which'll help you with gmax stuff. Playing around with all the importers/exports should also help.

yes, in fact that has already been done - check it out at BCC...
LC's Intrepid, which will be in KM 1.0, has it so the nacelles will go up before going to warp, and down when coming out of warp...
