Galaxy X Hardpoint suggestions ok i am making a "All Good Things" version of the Galaxy X e.g. the cloaking device mainly. but one question???? on the cannons on the top of the saucer.. would you guy say Pulse or beams?? and what arcs if any?? at the moment i have them as 5x5 degree foward arched beams about 10% stronger than the normal phasers.. |
Defiant stle pulse phasers would look, good, but wouldn't be very useful on a ship of this size and agility. |
Phasers would do a good job, but think you shouldn't do them stronger than the normal ones |
How about an advanced sensorsystem (the Galaxy x has enough Weapons already)? |
your right the Pulse Phasers dont do much. i did drop the strength to 5% more which seems better also i have increased the side arcs of them to partly overlap due to aiming issues. i like the idea of an advanced sensor system. thanks Cpt. Brock! |

You wanna see my hardpoint? I have the cloak working, the hardpoint I have makes the Galaxy-X truly a super ship. I also make similar modifications to the Sovereign, Akira, and Prometheus lines of vessels. |
well my hard point is not being designed to be a "God ship" but more acurate to what the Galaxy Refit would really be. for example i have made the main gun's arch smaller as i believe it should be also i have removed one of the torpedo launchers and added the saucer cannons on the ship. i would like any suggestions that you may have. |
How about this: The Super Cannon shouldnīt be fired as a Phaser. Try to put it on the Disrupterbutton. I use P81s Galaxy X for some Time now and I think that would give you more Control about it (at least when you WILL fire it it WOULD fire). It should also a little bit faster than the older Galaxy. The Idea to remove some Torpedosystem seems not so good. Remember the additional launcher at the top of the saucer. The Galaxy X should have MORE Torpedolauncher (perhaps the Torpedocomplement of each Launcher should be reduced or the Quantums should be fired from the top Launcher only). nice i had not thought of puttin the cannons on the disruptor button... good idea. and on the issue of the torpedo system i have detailed views of teh actual model used in the episode and it only has Two launchers on top of the saucer.. so i removed the middle launcher and made it the probe launcher. for the moment the front salvo is 8 torpedos and on the quantums i was thinking of lowering the reload time on them. but the idea with only the top launchers is good and i will see how it works. on the impulse engine power it is already about 5 percent more powerful than the stock galaxy. but i will raise it and see. |
