There isnt any problem with the quotation marks but there is another problem I've had before,,

//Max Shield Strength & Begining Shield Strength <500
maxHealth = 15000

The <500 is there for a reason,

the maxHealth shouldnt be above 500 =)
I hope that will fix it, And I know the sollution is a bit late, but for other people, who have the same problem, here is the sollution

Greetings Gamers,

Wow, been such a LONG TIME since I posted anything here, but hoping this will be a helpful posting for me and all. I just got interest in dan1025's Vulcan race: Vulcan Full Race, Star Trek: Armada 2 Downloads, Star Trek: Armada 2 Full Race and wanted to add them to my game. After a few unfortunate installation probs, I was helped abit by Dan. So far, his mod did work for me(thanks Dan), but only in a FRESH 1.2 version of the game(without any of my own files added to it). Now, when I added my files(no 1.2 patch and all original files wasn't included), the game once again DOES NOT reconized his Vulcan race. I do what Dan instructed about the 'InstantActionSlot' numbering servereal times and to NO CHANGE, the game STILL DOES NOT reconzie the Vulcan race in game set-up menu. I would like to know has anyone else experience this and WHAT ELSE could prevent a race to be listed in the game's menu instead of the basic 'InstantActionSlot' dillemma? Thanks for any input on this(getting frustrating)!

I've got a strange problem. I tried installing the Demo on an older machine, but it didn't have a compatible hardware accelerator and the game brought up an error message telling me so. I installed the demo on a more recent machine (not much more recent), and the demo has worked for about three years. This past sunday, for some reason, the same error message came up on the newer machine. I was wondering what exactly a hardware accelerator is and if this could be something to do with DirectX.

Okay, I have (apparently) random crashes in Armada as soon as I add a new ship or install a new TC. For example FleetOps crashes sometimes without any warning, or also if I add ships from the site manually in there, the game crashes sometimes after minutes and sometimes after hours of gameplay. Any idea what might be the reason for that?

If the ship you are installing has a weapon that won't work (because of not updating the weapon.spr file), then the game may run for a few minutes before the ship fires the weapon or for a few hours. If you have some damage sprites that haven't been included (in whatever file they go into), then it might do the same thing.

I have had crashing problems with the Beta Construction Ship for the Federation after it builds "Turrent3", the main build item it's designer designed with it.

I've also found that my game is saying the error message "Out Of Memory Increase Swap File Size" after it trys to load the Federation level "Along the Neutral Zone".

I'm new to all this MODing thing and had to reinstall the game Thursday (4/24/09) night, then I started adding the MODs I want. My Transphasic Torpedos don't show up anymore since then after I put them back in and there isn't an invisible button to click on to use them. Their just not there.

I consider the game to be crashing getting that error message and just plain not responding and closeing as more crashing. How do all of this get fixed? E-mail me using this screen name at yahoo if you know what I can do since I don't get much time to check this site during the week. Thank you.

I can help you with this one, it means in one of your odf files, you are missing a " . eveything in the odf that uses " must have 2 of them. Example: race = "federation would cause this error because a " is missing after Federation. It sould be race = "federation".

Look over any added or modified odf's that you may have done

my armada crashes after a while when playing a game after 2 hrs or so i have stock armada no changes but the 1.2 patch and i have a 5500 256 mb graphics card

Hello - I'm having a frustrating problem that I've not found a solution for yet. I recently loaded Armada 2 onto my machine (Vista 32-bit), and have been fighting tooth and nail trying to get it to work. I've finally gotten the game to where I can play by myself on individual missions, but everytime I try to join a network game, Armada 2 crashes completely. I can't even create a game, because it just instantly crashes. And by crashing, I mean it exits out of the game, and puts me back to the desktop, with the message "Star Trek Armada 2 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." ...Obviously, that tells me nothing.

This only seems to happen when I'm trying to join or create a game. As of right now, I'm able to play single missions without too much problem.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? I've messed around with my firewall settings and my connection settings, but to no avail. Here's the Event Viewer log (if it helps any):
