Voices

I need help with the voices for STA2. When I play the game every time I move a group of ships each ship is taking their turn has to say something. Meaning that if I have 16 ships and click on a location on the map each single ship will say their designed saying. It sucks cause when you click on several locations all 16 will say something times the amount of clicking. What can I do to get rid of that or to fix it the way it was before when only one ship would say something.

Re: Voices

When you select a fleet - two or more ships - only one voice will be played. However, with too long voiceovers, or in battle it's possible that more sounds should be played at the same time, than it's possible. In this case, the game puts every sound in a queue and plays them after each other, as it finds a free sound channels.
Armada II supports up to 32 simultaneous sound channels, you can setup it in Options->Sound options. But if the game have to play more than 32 sound at the same time, then the queue-thing comes and you may experience that several ships are speaking, however nothing happens. I think this happened to you.

Re: Voices

What you describe sounds like a "priority issue".
Chek out your events.dat file. there you'll find some priority settings just before each entries end (before the closing accolade)

They should all read zero or be absent. (exept for heroships such as picard or main events such as the Ferengi witch should read 2)

Kind regards and happy modding, Franxoft Imports
