| I just discovered that my 7 year old Armada II disc has unfixable damage so I have to drop major $ to get a new one. Is there anything I should know about making a backup/archival copy of it when I get it so I don't have to worry about this again? |

| best bet is to make an iso copy using any one of several programs (Magicdisc ISO or Alcohol 120%) and burning it to a CD. I burned the original ISO to a CD and Kept it in safe place and kept a back up of that on the comp and have it on a virtual mount. I wanna make this perfectly clear that this will only work for LEGIT copies of Armada, im not getting into the entire cracked copy thing seeing as the forums don't allow it and the admins would tie me up by my "jems". This thread seems to be on the edge so just watch what you say and you should be good ![]() Good luck FG in order to get said programs just google 'em

| I don't think anything I would do should be illegal. I'm not going to make copies to sell them. I just intend to do what I have to do to never worry about losing the ability to play the game. |

| Your legally allowed to make a backup copy of your CD, we can't legally discuss anything else here. |

| It amazes me still that one of these software distribution sites hasn't bought the rights to distribute both games legitemately (spellings terrible at 3.30am) now that its next to impossible to obtain original copies outside of the likes of ebay. I personally keep the originals or ALL unavailable software and in some cases (Total Annihilation) have bought more than one original and use the likes of clonecd/clonedvd for backup purposes.

| You mean i'm not the only person playing TA either? It's great, especially with the TAUCP pack. Anyway, I suspect that because of the terms of the lawsuit that Activision had with Paramount it's probably not possible. Anytime anybody has asked either activision or paramount about it they just get refered the person asking to the other company. |

| Perhaps someone should just publicly announce that they are going to host the game and then do it... |

| That would be illegal. |

short and simpleIts a shame cause i know some sites (fileplanet) allow for users to download Brand new games straight off line (just finished up D/l Dragon Age lol and Left 4 dead) Would love to see a site manage to get paramount and Activision to agree to it.
