armada 2 crashing during online play
 

Hi everyone

trying to get online multiplayer for armada 2 and it keeps crashing when i try and create a game. i am running windows vista. i have installed the patch etc but no effect. ver 1.2 couldit be because i am running vista ?

or is there a hundred other reasons ??

anyone else running vista with armada2 and can do online play

There is no 1.2 patch for Armada 2, just 1.1. The 1.2 patch was for Armada.

As for Vista and multiplayer, apparently there have been some issues where GameSpy has decided not to work under the circumstances. Just look around on here and other forums/google to help you find an answer.

Actually I've been having the same problem with A2 and Vista. I've tried running the program with administrative access, fiddling with the firewall settings, the works. If anyone figures this out please let me know too =p

I am having the same problem running Armada II under vista. It runs fine until i select create game, then it goes to checking version assets or something, then the screen goes black and it says Armada II has stopped working and windows is checking for solutions. it does this through any type of multiplayer, LAN or Internet play. other formats, instant action, etc. work just fine though.

I've got the same problem too, the game crashes to desktop when I try to join a game or create a game in both Internet and LAN play, instant action works fine.

I am running Vista and I also have a XP computer and I have the same problem there too, and yes I have the latest 1.1 patch on both computers.

Any help is appreciated!

Well after doing some research, I found the Star Trek Armada II: Patch Project 1.2.5, it fixed the problem, and you can get it here Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Star Trek Armada II: Patch Project 1.2.5

I think it possibly works with the official 1.1 patch, I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope it does...... ;)
