Default Problems with adding new ships

Hi everyone, I just got back into Armada II recently.

I had two problems when i started again. I downloaded a few federation ships from the website and began installing. I've tried different combinations but I can't seem to figure out the problem yet. I've patched the game

1) I download the Premontion and the Prometheus ships. When I install just those two ships, both of them do not appear together. I am only able to build one of them and no button exists for the other. What should i do?

2) On top of those two ships, ive tried installing the norway, dauntless and the rhode island all at once. The problem I run into is that an instant action game runs fine with all those ships but a couple of minutes into it, the game crashes to the desktop with an error message.

Any help you guys can give me would be much appeciated. Thanks

did you use installers for these ships?
the most installers overwrite files wich are used by other ships.
this could be the reason why you can only see one ship

you have to install the files in an other folder and then you can add the files manually.

if u dont know how to do this, you have to download files with detailed installation instructions (without auto installers)

What if there is an overlap? do I rename one of the files to something different so they don't overwrite each other?

it is really improbably that there are files with the same name.
But renaming them wont work. after renaming them, you have to change the entries in the other files...

note: renaming textures is impossible/doesnt work

I tried to skip the problem by installing just a total conversion mod, The Concept:future full mod v1.00. Even with this I have the problem. The game crashes to the desktop after a few minutes of instant action gameplay. I'm sure not many people have this problem. What can I do? Do you think it is an actually hardware problem? The unmodded armada runs fine and my computer is not old

i dont think that this is a hardware problem. I dont know what happens when u install this mod so i cant say you what the problem is.

but be sure that this mod is for ur armada version (1.0 or 1.1)

the mod is for my armada version 1.0.

the screen blacks out and minimizes and you can see part of the desktop. then windows says it encountered a problem and needs to close
