is it possible to change a weapon into an explosion

say for example making the exlplosion for the super star destroyer the same explosion of the Cardassian missle weapon and make it have the same effect

if there is not a way to change the weapo explosion into a ship explosion are the any modified more realistic explosions available somewhere?
