how would i go about creating buttons for special weapons and techs and ships.

Download "Westworlds Big Book of Modding"!! There is a full section on making buttons in it as well as the blanks to make it easier.

i have it but cant open it so i have blanks but i need the text to go along with makingit.

Ok, try downloading the pdf version from the Naval Armada site. The blank button files are in the Word 2000 version, so just get your instructions from the pdf and the files from the Word 2000 zip. Also, to follow the button making instructions exactly as in the Big Book of Modding, you will need PSP 6 or higher (it says 7 but 6 works fine, I've tested it).
