I would leave the Feds for last. There are several mods out that can cover that time frame I can't remeber how far you said the cards were along.
As everyone knows I am a more of a Dominion fan and I am very tempted to do a full Dominion race. I also have a bit of the Klingons done so if you look at it that way it would make more sense to do the Klingons first, however I really want to tackle the Dominion.

The 3rd is of a SFC1 race that is well known for yellowish hulls and their energy spheres.
The 1st was of a race known to "appear" out of thin air using gateway technology. As well as the galaxies best computer virus.
The 2nd is of a race that in Klingon means 'outsider'. In DS9, the Sword of Kah'Less was found on a world belonging to this race.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I want to do a TNG/Post Nemesis era mod. So those races don't fit for me. What I mean by less common is in terms of modding as usually the Federation, Klingons and Romulans get 90% of the attention.

I like the idea of this, and it is the first thread I've read in my return
Yeah me too, I felt the Maquis had great potential, but were killed off. Producers and such, don't know a good thing when they have it.
Well if the mod is firmly post Nemesis which in my mind means 10 years or more after ST X I would segest useing DJ Curtis' Fed for the base as he has enough designes to just about cover a full race by himself. Though wth there polies you would need to make your own meshes and textures but you would have good information to base the meshes on.
In Life unlike Chess the Game continues after CheckMate
Not all ships will have specials, I feel they distract from the game. I feel a player should be able to win a game and utilise their fleet without having to resort to specials. I am not sure if I am even going to include specials at this point, if I do they will be more canon rather than god-like. I guess I'll see when I get to it. At the moment I am focusing on finishing up the modelling. I will also be going back and revamping some of the models slightly as I feel I could do a few things better now.
Also all of you who are also on MSFC, go check out the "For the Union!" thread, I have just finished texturing the Cardassian Interceptor a Dominion inspired design. The first, well second completed (third modelled) design of a lineage of Dominion style inspired Dominion designs.
I haven't done much at all with the Cardassians in the last week. I've been busy getting the remaining of my Battlestar Galactica ships finished and released on MSFC.
However I do have some new images for you non-MSFC members.
They are rather old, some dating back up to 3 months, however since I haven't posted them here yet I thought I would as they will obviously be new to those of you whom don't visit my site.
First up is the Kaldor, a model originally by Deamon this has become a Cardassian Gunship. This little beauty look many hours to do, somewhere in the area of 6-8 if I recall. More than I would've liked. I had to do some re-modelling on her as well as the full re-texture.

Next up on the list is an older design, dating back to the dawn of the 24th century. I'd like to introduce the Lakat, the Cardassian's version of the Constitution refit/Excelsior class. This was the ship that participated in first contact with the Federation and many fought in the Federation-Cardassian war of the 2350's and many were brought back into service during the Klingon-Cardassian war of the 2370's due to the heavy losses Cardassia suffered.

Moving along here we have the Vasad, a rebuild of the stock model and using some parts of Achilles Galor model. The Vasad I really liked and due to this I had to include an up to date model of her in COE. Again she is an older design, nowhere near as old as the Lakat however.
Note: I had to double post due to the image restriction.
I think that will do for ships, at least for now. However I have done stations too, something that many mods and communities lack is stations. Something of a sort after gem. I found the same problem so I made some of my own, revamped some of the stock ones and used basically what I could to get an outcome that I am rather happy with.
First up is the torpedo turret. This is the stock model, slight altered mesh wise by me and re-textured. The Cardassian models in stock are some of the best in my opinion. Very clean mesh wise which made re-vamping them very easy.

The second on this list is the phaser turret, I kitbashed it from the torpedo turret and got some inspiration from one of Achilles Cardassian turrets he released years ago.

Next up is the sensor station, model by Achilles, slightly re-vamped by me and re-textured by yours truly.

The Mining stations is another Achilles design and model, again a slight re-vamp by me and re-texture.

Spoiler:
Here we have Aad Moerman's starbase, re-vamped by me to become an outpost. All the Cardassian station textures are by him naturally used with permission. So a very slight re-texture on the main hull and that was it.

Achilles starbase, re-textured and re-vamped by me. This one took a fair while to do, longer than the turrets. But in the end it was well worth it I feel.

Spoiler:
Finally here is a model by me, a research station. One of four or five research stations. I can't remember at this moment how many I have. But research plays an important role in COE so I needed more than the average mod.

Spoiler:
Well that's it for now. C&CC is wanted and encouraged, feedback is always a great thing so please leave your opinions and suggestions and any ideas you might have on additional designs, not that I need a great deal as I am almost complete with the Cardassians. I only need a couple of more ship designs and the Cardassian ship yards to do.
