If you think about it, the Excelsior, Ambassador, Galaxy, Sovereign etc are a lot like the Constitution in the fact they've got their saucer, neck, hull and nacelles all roughly in the same place.

Anyway, I agree on the nacelle choice, the earlier one was more suited for a larger vessel. Although you could mix them both and see the results. Some extra disruptor emplacements is always a plus.

BTW, any ideas for a class name?

What about the Miranda, Constellation and Nebula? The whole point of those designs are to NOT be Constitution-type designs, so that they stand out as distinctly non-hero starships, so the audience can be clear which one's the Enterprise. There's at least two or three design types available for the Federation. The Romulans get two or three as well, eventually. For the Klinks everything always looks like a beefed-up D7 until you get the Negh'var.

no ideas for a class name, again suggestions are appreciated.

Well I'll try again with the nacelles, not going back to the old ones cause I didn't like them... though I am quite happy for this ship to stay in concept until we iron it out

...and we haven't touched the underneath yet.

To'Q - Raptor

Cha'bIp - quick/rapid bird,

personally like the "To'Q - Raptor" the best. the "QIn pup - spearhead" is okay but this ship doesnt look like something that would be called the "Cha'bIp - quick/rapid bird"...FAR too husky for that name lol
