| Hello everyone, today I am re-announcing my mod for Star Trek Armada II. It is called Dawn of War. I began this a long time ago, and am recently coming back to it (last year or so). This thread will provide some background for the mod and some of my ideas. Background and Setting: The mod will be taking place between the TOS-TMP era. The origional series era represents an era that I believe to be perfect for a Armada style game. A conflict between any race is fair game because of everyones diplomatic relations at the time. Whats more enjoyable than being Kirk's era playing cat and mouse with a K'tinga? The earliest this mod will begin is the Daedalus class and the fursthest it will go is around the Excelsior era, although if I can find a place for it, i'd like to get the Ambassador class in there, you know...just incase I decide to go further in another mod. Races: The main races I plan to include for sure are Romulan, Klingon and of course Federation. I am considering other races such as the Gorn, Tholians and Orian Pirates. Gameplay: While in terms of gameplay, not much is set in stone yet, I do have many ideas and plans for this though. I am going to try and make the gameplay as rewarding and intuitive as possible. I want there to be many factors in winning a game, many ways to win a game. I'm planning to use all 3 resources avaliable to me, though not in the fashion that they are being used in right now. I want every ship to be valuable and useful, of course I dont mean you'll be using an Daedalus class in combat at the end of your campaign, but perhaps when that advanced scout becomes avaliable to you after some research, you'll build it instead of saving for a capital ship. I also hope to make use of some things in the community such as the physics project and midnight universe, of course pending permission requests (when I get close enough to a release). There is a lot more that I have planned and in mind for this, more of which i'll talk about once I get closer to implementing it. Goals: Well to be hounest i'm working on 3 projects, FT, this and the series of Star Trek games being made by Jigally Puff, Malovision, MStrobel and so on (we've got quite a few going there). So progress is slow, but there is progress. My first goal is to get everything modelled and then ingame, then I can start worrying about balancing + gameplay. I of course am doing some of this along the way but I want to get everything in the game first. On the upside I am as far as i've ever been. In the past i'd just have warships ingame. For once i've got stations, mining stations, research stations, construction ships, freightors, transports etc. Also a first for me is starting on another race, i've recently begun working on the Klingons! All is looking well, i'm not projecting when i'm getting this thing done but for once i'm sure it's getting done lol! Conclusion: Thank you all for listening and reading, i'd love to listen to your suggestions and advice whenever you have some! I will be updating this thread with ships, stations and gameplay features that I am working on, screenshots of some of my work coming up! |

| Here is some Federation stuff, all rendered in 3ds max, usually with speculars and bump. Ships include the Constitution (subject to change soon, just showing this model so it gets some last hurrah's), Scout ship (constitution like minus saucer, very cool design I found on sci-fi meshes and the author kindly let me make it!) Also included are the (released on a2files) Loknar and the Pathfinder. The Pathfinder is an advanced Daedalus eraish vessel, shouldnt be around with the Loknar but I figured what the heck. |

| Sorry about the lack of ingame shots right now, I dont really take that many, and when I do I take too many and end up losing the good ones ![]() Anywho, I bring Klingons! Ships included are All from the Starfleet Museum (aside from Cosntruction ship and Starbase). Included here are the D2, D3 (practically the same), D6, Construction ship and Ginormous Starbase! Hope you enjoy! |

| These look FANTASTIC, Fireball. I think it might be a good idea for you to release a "teaser pack" as has been done with the Beginnings mod, so people can see what your models look like for themslves. I say that partly because it'd be good publicity for your mod, and partly because I've been looking for a quality Daedalus model for a very VERY long time. |
