Thanks for the comments! Funky design indeed! At the time of it's inception..probably around 4 years ago when I first started the mod, it started out as me working on a Wasp class. I started making the Wasp and this happened instead, what can I say

As for the thing at the back, dunno what to call it, deflector, long range sensor, trunk ornament...not sure

I never payed much attention to design asthetic, I do more so these days, try avoid putting things like windows close to weapon systems and things like that.

Anywho, the Admiral will not be too happy about what i've done to the ship, here are the damage textures.
Tomorrow hopefully i'll model and texture the missile, and get it all ingame.

Well it's ingame (god i'm a slow hardpointer).

This thing has loooottttsss of phasers, 8 in total.
I use it for the effect more than anything else.
The damage is pretty low on them and they're all scattered in terms of delay between shots, goes from 0.5 second to 4.5 second delays I believe...
Looks cool when the ship is shooting head on.

It is also armed with a missile. I gave the missile a custom trail, but Armada code seems to have limitations in terms of how small you can make a stream so I might scrap it, unsure yet.

Also visible are new phong glows thanks to Achillies.

Next on the list is to fix a mesh error on the Antares (one that I have been unable to defeat for the longet time )
But another update is coming pretty soon

Very nice! kinda like a little deathstar gun. 2 thoughts one have you tried making the trail part of the spright or are you using AM mine based SOD missles? The second is why not keep some spare hardpoint setups around to speed things up?

Good idea on the spare set of hardpoints. I should do that, wont save me much time but it will save me some.
I tend to over-saturate my ships with hardpoints.
As for the sprite thing, I dont quite follow?
I made an SOD using the antimattermine weapon. I then created an emitter and placed it on the SOD.

Here is what I was talking about
I fininshed the Ticonderoga. In terms of panelling I merged the two patterns you saw before, I also added the same pattern to the saucer which took it to a new level in my opinion.

I made a new phaser texture and torpedo texture.
Torpedo created in 3ds max and rendered in various stages to create the animation.
For some reason you can see the "box" of the texture.
Weapons are in 512x512 textures, only the torpedo texture need be that big in all reality though, the phaser one isn't that detailed.
I'm happy with how it turned out, for the time being I just got the ship in without damage and gave it weapon hardpoints.

Enjoy.

You can see the box because the glow goes beyond the box. In esscence the black of the texture is lighter than the black of the space on the map because its glowing a little. The ship looks great

Thanks buddy, I fixed that before release and it came out good.
Now i'm working on the D4 before I start your D5, textures are already applied everywhere and i've begun working on them.

Very quick update, I start work very very soon so I gotta run

Okay, textures "done".
I put quotation marks because well, obviously they're not 100% complete.
The main work is done though. Now i'm just left wondering whether to lighten the panels or not, to me they look cool dark, but this is the TOS era so I might just bite the bullet and lighten them, not too much hopefully.
This ship was actually a pretty fun and quick build, looks and feels Klingon to me.

D4 is Finisnhed, all that needs to be done is hardpoints and damage.
Armed with what almost ever "D" model warpship is armed with, 2 missiles and 2 distruptors.

Although this one has an additional plasma cannon. at the bottom of the ship!
Here is a picture of the family together.
Thats the D3, D2 not in any of the pictures simply because it looks very close to the D2, either the D2 or D3 is getting a texture simular to the D4 soon to further differentiate the D2 and D3.

One thing about Klingon ships, especially TOS ones, they don't really take long to make. Mind you when time comes to make a cannon B'rel or K'tinga you'll here otherwise

Anywho, enjoy.
