Join Date: April 16th, 2007 Location: Northern Ireland Status: Making a mod Rep Power: 19 | Texturing technique question Hey there, I was wondering if anyone had ever textured a model by the orientation of their faces? Like having an outline of a ship side view in photoshop then creating the texture around that, then only selecting the faces that face sidewards and sticking the texture to them?
It's just that my BFG ships look rather plain to me, and they're quite 'blocky' as in made out of cuboids and the such like.
So in the end you'd have to have a front, back, top, bottom, and left and right sides for a texture. I was jus wondering if it could be done (if you understand lol), thanks. |
