Just another boring mod compilation
 

Some time before, I was creating mod compilation based on the best mod's I have found. Since then, I have spread only little information about any progress.

But now, you can check for yourself - * Link Removed*


Thanks to Achilles, he was the first one who gave me permission for using his work. I still do not have all of them, that's why first version of this mod is not on armadafiles.

Maybe when time will come :)

If your mod was rejected by Armada Files because you didn't have all the proper credits, what makes you think it is alright to post it here?

That's not funny. Your not going to get around our rules and posting a statement effectively saying "up yours" to us by hosting that on a different site.

We are human as well, you know?

I don't have the access to remove that link, however one of my colleauges on the forum staff will remove it shortly. Do not post another link to that on the forums or the site.

Edit:

We require credit to go to the authors of any mod we host, and we require that you get permission from the author. You need to do both before you can release that mod here, or anywhere else in this community.

If you persist in trying, you are going to get a *VERY* bad reputation *VERY* quickly.

Ok then, I think that linking directly to the mods I used is enough credit, but I'll wait until all permissions will be clear.

Since this forum is for moders, and this compilation is the betaversion, I need someone to try it (someone else than myself) before I't can be released as full.

You can't just say that at the end. Linking to all of the mods and other material you used would be acceptable credit in your readme, after you have asked people if you can use their work.

It is an absolute requirement to have asked people, and to tell other people what you used.

Star Wars Fleet Command feel free to use. Their was this entire fuss about it, and it was added to free to use. Just give credits.


Dominion Ultimate mod should be easy get credits for.

Concept : Future Full mod and Freespace 2 are only mod that are going to be problem. Im not sure those guys are around, then again wasn't alot of those ships from bi2? Map has alwayse had very freindy feel free to use policy on the matter.

At the begining I emailed as many of them I could. But only two of them sent email back to me. First was the guy qith ferengi race that I didn't use at the end. And second was guy who made the dominion ultimate and who told me I can't use the version that I have used. And Achilles, he gave me permission via PM here.

And all the others? deep silence.

If you can show that you have made reasonable attempts to contact an modder and they have not responded within a reasonable timeframe then we do provisionally allow the use of their material.

However, obviously if you do that and they then later come back and state they don't want other people using their work then you would have a problem.

You can't just say "And many great ship designs from armada2.filefront.com" though.

I know I know,. I just still think that moding should be fun not byrocracy :D
