Default New Year of Fire Trailer (II)

This is the second Year of Fire trailer. This time I tried a lot harder to really get into the action, and vary the clips, so it should be less boring than the last one :P

I hope everyone will enjoy it a lot, especially since work is nearly done! (Hopefully before the end of the summer)

As far as progress goes, it is really just about polishing everything now, tightening nuts and bolts. Most of the Factions are done, or close to done. All that remains are certain cosmetic alterations, and some of them are done already, notable finished ones are 2 of the 4 main menu animation, 2 Guis, etc.

WOW!

That looks awesome. I'm definitely getting this when its out. The ships look awesome, I like the big bulky ones.

The effects are amazing, and I love the CGI movie at the end. Very well done. Well done indeed.

And is it just me or is there a bit of Babylon 5 music in there?

Well iOSYS, credit is given when due, and by god you deserve it

The ingame action seems to be good, and fast paced (something that some may feel is too fast, but that is your decision as the project leader), the ships are good, the weapons, good, the new nebulas (I believe I saw some of them) are good. Everything about it seems to be pretty darn impressive.

I also notice you've done some CGI work on it too, this should prove interesting for your mission briefings and such. My only... nit pick is that the ship physics seem a little out, as in, they turn too much when they should take longer (think of them as cars, you can turn a car around that quick, you must first drive forward then then turn to get 180).

Out of 10, I currently give 9

On the contrary to Ash, I believe physics aren't a problem. There's no gravity in space unless around another mass of substantial force and as ships don't create their own gravity (unless in atmosphere). So, ships turning on a dime is nice to see, I think.

All in all, stunning work. From looking on your youtube account, I sincerely hope we see a stunning intro vid

[EDIT]

Added. Whilst I'm doing some tweaks to the mod centre, I'm going to add some of your youtube videos to view on the profile page. I love the battle animation test one that's a minute long, looks spectacular.

Thanks Joelteon

As for Physics, sadly there is very little one can do to alter Armada 1 physics, although I don't mind how it is now so much, and it looks fine when you are actually playing it.

Glad you guys like it!

Awesome work IOSYS, I really liked the CGI animation at the end, it's something I have just of late been trying to get into myself.

Yeah the Babylon 5 music was a dead give away the second it started, being a B5 fan and all. I would suggest something more original and less noticeable for the actual game if you haven't already.

I also loved the little web comic you posted on SFM too.

I hope iOSYS doesn't mind, but in his mod profile, I added a couple of the videos he had uploaded to youtube that were fully CGI. They're the second too. One is an animation on a bridge, where the commander issues...a command () and the ship moves gloriously, whilst the other is just cool CGI segments. Very shiny.

I really do hope there's an intro vid along with this mod. Purely because the talent to do so is clearly there and it'd just look so amazing.

Bloody Brilliant!

I am so glad I still have Armada 1 working. Everything is simply wonderful. I thought the ships movements were pretty realistic myself. The CGI is seamless. Like something you would see on a show or something.
