Yea you basically hit it on the head. I was thinking of making the Tau Hero or Explorer class armed with railguns and missiles. And Tau missiles are the best in the tabletop game, and I'd like to have them as SOD based missiles with a seek time and omega turn rate etc. Also I hope to give the SOD missiles a contrail effect, probably have to make my own texture for that though.

The explosion though, I don't know if I could do that. I was thinking of just keeping the standard Tau missiles as normal effects. Maybe a special weapon that creates a Warp storm or vortex etc.

Ok I may present the Hero Class Starship, here to conquer more space for the Greater Good. (Thats Tau by the way for people who don't know)

I'll have it totally finished tomorrow hopefully.

Armed with Railguns or Ion cannons, gravitic launchers (big torpedoes) and two hangar bays, its the main combat vessel in the Tau fleets.

You can do the omegaturn and seektime, no problem. And you might look into the RGB folder for a sprite texture- there're some pretty good ones in there. Getting a balance on the trail/lifespan/sprite animation is tricky, but you can get some interesting results. I recommend using the lifesupport venting as a model for 'em.

I've determined you can't get realistic damage (or explosions) with sod based ordinance, though. Only sprite based ordinance gives full damage and allows for object or waves to be included.

Looking Good Ragnar. Haven't been keeping up with this thread as of late, though have just had a gander through it. I can see BattleFleet Gothic on the Armada II Engine soon.
