i am woundering how to make a special weapon into a seperate normal one...

what i wanted to do was put the auto assimilator beam onto a defence station so i can deploy them around a map and let them gather me some ship.. but as it a special weapon it i dont think it will work like that on a station will it?

I beleive it would work as a special weapon on a station, yes. The Federations temporal station works so I don't see why this shouldn't.

That is, as so long as the station has enough special weapon energy.

Ehhh, im trying to add normal 'non-specialweapon' holding beams to a unicomplex. You cant have a station having multiple holding beam buttons, u can read why in the 'borg unicomplex' topic.
I want to transform it into a normal weapon too but i dont know how.

Wasn't it BI2 that had auto-assimilation turrets?

I think there is a line in the odf that says something like special = 1. You can change that to 0 or 2 I'm not sure which and then it's just a matter of changine the energycost and resaving the file as a new sperate one. I don't know if it works or not. I'm still experimenting.

You change it to zero, it also means cause it is no longer a special weapon that you can have serveral of them, I made a Uber-Cube with 3 super-auto-assimiltors and 3 super-holding beams, I also made a multi targeting one as well, I send 10 sovies againt this thing and they are all assimialted in seconds. Its ideal for ship with multi targeting weapons, so you dont have to keep pressing the button, like on the Daedelus it fires at two ships at once on average or ISDs or the cubes.

Or you can just delete the line:
special = 1
Just remove it from the file an you got a normal weapon.

Long live the Fighters.
