Music within the game Hey there, I am trying to chane some of the music that plays within in the game. I already have a different track for when you are playing "instant action". but can't seem to get the music to change for the campaignes. Is there something I must eidt that I am just missing? Also, I've noticed that you can't have a music track longer than the original wav. that was used, but can you have multiple tracks play one after the other, and if so how? Thank you all. It will still be a while to my full mod is ready to post... boy this is tough work... but keep your eyes posted. Bernice |
Re: Music within the game You can have music longer, the music in Parallels goes for 10 minutes instead of the stock 3 to 4 minutes. It all has to do with the bit rate and sampling rate of the wave files. I use 8 bits and 8.000khz for my music. |
Re: Music within the game dont forget your WAV convertor (it will allow you to change any music file into one thats A2 playable and sort out your bit rate) |
paulhanselluk, what converter may that be? is that something that comes with armada that I dind't know about, or are you just talking about whatever music progams I may have... for example, I use Adobe Autition. oh, I am still trying to figure out how to change the music in the campaignes. I changed all the music files to my own, but it still plays the original game music when I play the campaignes... I am so confused! I have also noticed that converting my files to a smaller smaple and bit rate seriously decreases the sound quality. is there any way around this? Merged your posts. If you press the edit button within 30 minutes of your original post creation, you can add in more content, just to let you know :) - J7 |
Re: Music within the game the convertor is nothing special there are many that are online (and free) that will do the job, and no it is not a ingame/disc function, if you want a good one go to my website and follow the links in the A2 section |

Re: Music within the game okay... here we go again... converting to a smaller bit rate is just not working for me. I want good quailty, so I was wondering if it is possible to make the game play two or three smaller compositions. Is there a file somewhere that I can edit it so it will, or am I just stuck with the one piece? Kel333, I understand what you mean, and I have changed all of the fed music in the sounds file, however, when I go and play in the campaignes, I get the original music still... I can't find any other music in the entire STAII folder... am I just missing something? |

fed.odf, in the odf/other folder. Look for these lines: // Music play list. singlePlayerMusic = "mfed300.wav" multiPlayerMusic = "mfedmp300.wav" and in the sounds\music folder, there are these files: Mfed10.wav Mfed30.wav Mfed300.wav Mfedmp300.wav I think the 10 & 30 files are special use (triggered by events) like winning or loosing. All you should need to do is change either the lines in fed.odf to the names of your music, or re-name your wav files to: Mfed300.wav and Mfedmp300.wav, in the sounds\music folder, I don't know why you're having trouble with the music for the campaigns... Mfed300 should do it. But, to conclude, as long as they're named properly, you can use any sound files you want (in wav format). Quote:
Good luck. |
Re: Music within the game kel333, thanks for the help... I've finally got it. I don't know why it didn't pley before, but it all works now... keep an eye out for my mod... probably next month with the way things are going... the downfall's of a perfectionist!!!! |
