Warp speed for construction ships How do you make the construction ships use warp speed? |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships The STA2/odf/other/constphys.odf file. edit: Code: warpSpeed = 0 |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships does anyone else want to say "give it a push" or is that just me ??? |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Do You Whant Warp Speed On All Construction Ships Or Just One |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships What admiral ryan said, will make it apply for all construction ships. And what he suggests is that you change 0 to 240. Just making it a little simpler so he can understand it a little better. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships I gave it a try but all the construction ships still move at sublight. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Hello: You could edit the file: sconstphys.odf in the ODF/Other folder. In that file, change the warp speed factor and you'll be able to move the ship at warp speeds, but it will not warp if you send it to build something. Try warping the ship to the location, and then give it the order to build. I know because something similar happens to the cargo ships I modified. I hope this can help. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Nope, that didn't work either. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships sorry I was a bit tired when I did that other post. It should work how I described, if not, choose the physics of another ship, say the steamrunner as you physics for your ship. To do this add these lines to each const ship odf (fconst, ect. or just replace the existing entry in the const.odf to make all of them have warp.) and add (or replace these lines) in to the files: physicsFile = "scruise2phys.odf" trekPhysicsFile = "trek_scruise2phys.odf" that ourt to make it have warp (but still keep them fairly slow.) I would advice you studying the physics files and how the ship odfs relate to them in more detail if you want to have your own physics files for different ships. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Where do I install that? |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Saying youve installed all of the things the other members are saying, you have to right click where you want to go on the minimap or hold down ALT while right clicking to engage the warp drive.Good Luck:) |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Huh? |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Hello: I just change my sconstphys.odf and changed from warpSpeed = 0 to warpSpeed = 200. I played the game and my construction ships can go to warp. But, as i said earlier, if you send the ship to build something it will move at sublight. First, send the ship to the location you want to build at warp, and then, when the ship arrives, order it to build something. It is the same with the Cargo ships: when trading, they will not go from points A to B on warp. I hope you can make this work. The funny thing is that now several 8472 non-combat bioships can go to warp too. :) |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships I may look into this myself for a side project I am working on. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Hello: Are your Construction ships able to go to warp now?. I really want to know. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships I Have My Fed Ship To Go Warp (Have For Mounths) I Could Send You The Phycal Peramiters odf File If You Still Havent Had Any Luck |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships I personally dont know why people add warp speed to construction ships, i find it better when you escort them to where they want to build something;) |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships i have a warbing const ship with heavy shields and 10 torpedo launchers :) i can decide if i want to build something or if i want to destroy my enemy first^^ |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Hello: I must admit it, it is more fun to have to escort your construction ships to the building spot than to make it capable of in-system warp flight. I found a way to make them warp capable by altering their physics odf.... I must admit (too), it is also very fun to make them warp capable, to see who wins a cool planet or moon in maps with few resources. Where you success with your mod kane_anuenue? |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships I also tried to figure out how to get the AI opponent to use warp on const ships (or to warp to the location of a build order). As far as I could tell (as others have said) the comp only uses impulse for 'em. The only way I could get a const ship to warp is the way described above (add it to the physics file(s) and warp/click on the map/mini-map). |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Hello: I finally tried the new warp-drive on my construction ships ingame, but, as kel333 said, the AI will not make construction ships to go to warp. But you can make your const ships go to warp the same way you do with any combat ship. Still, your idea is very good kane_anuenue, and you are quite right kel333 |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships i had to remove the warp i added to my mod , they warped to my base and built heavy turrets and starbases lol |

Re: Warp speed for construction ships Thanks for the confirmation, Chiletrek. @ usscapital Are you saying the AI warped const ships, or a human opponent? |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Well, I still can't get the construction ships to warp in the Star Wars Fleet Command Mod. The Star Trek Mod was no problem. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Hello: Well, I'm glad that the mod worked in your Armada2 game, but I cannot help with the Star Wars Fleet Command Mod, because I've never played that mod before I don't even download it... yet :). I'm sure you'll get the help you need. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships The file for SWFC construction physics is: swcnphys.odf Good luck. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Thanks, thats exactly what I needed. My Star Wars constuction ships now move at warp speed. Or in their case, hyperspace just like in The Empire Strikes Back. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Cheers, mate. |
Re: Warp speed for construction ships Congratulations, I'm glad you made it! Chhers! |
