What's the story on the number of ships you can put in the game? Is there an unlimited number of ships that you can add to the ship yards or not? When I added Enterprise (NX-01), the constitution class disappeared. warmarshall2nd |
Re: What's the story on the number of ships you can put in the game? Shipyards can support: Armada 1: 11 ships max Armada 2: 14 ships max This is then limited by the number of shipyards you have. Each construction ship can build the same amount of structures as shipyards can build ships. Also you'll find it rare that two seperately released mods will be compatible with each other. |
Re: What's the story on the number of ships you can put in the game? So, do you mean that if I were to build two advanced shipyards, I could support 28 advanced ships and the same with two regular ship yards? I'm confused...Or do you mean that you can only have 14 reg. ships and 14 advanced ships? Still, as soon as I install 1, the others disappear. Im sorry for being somewhat moronic... warmarshall2nd |
Re: What's the story on the number of ships you can put in the game? Basically, a shipyard can only handle 14 different classes of ships in its build menu. So for default Armada there are 2 shipyards for each race, meaning max of 28 classes of ships. Then of course, you could add a third shipyard, and you will be able to add 14 more to that one, for a total of 42. |
Re: What's the story on the number of ships you can put in the game? Ah, I get it now...Thanks! |
Re: What's the story on the number of ships you can put in the game? So, now could somebody please tell me how to correctly install a shipyard so that I can build three different shipyards. I've tried Antaries and the "nyard" (the nemisis shipyard). Promptness would be appreciated. |

Copy one of the shipyards (fyard2.odf) and give it a new name (fyard2_2.odf). Erase all of the ships in it's build list and add your own. Step 2 Add this new station to the build list of a constructor ship (if there is room). Step 3 Copy a sod file (fyard2.sod) and name it as you did with the odf file (fyard2_2.sod) (the text before the dot must be the same.) Step 4 Go to the tech1.tt file in the techtree folder and add the line fyard2_2.odf 0 // if you want it buildable from the start or fyard2_2.odf 2 fbase.odf fmining.odf // if you want it to wait untill you have made both a base and a mining station Step 5 This is the hard one, go to the sprites directory and open gui_global.spr and search for fyard2. You should find: b_fyard2 gbfyard200 0 0 64 64 and fyard2w1 fedwireframe05 0 192 48 48 fyard2w2 fedwireframe05 48 192 48 48 fyard2w3 fedwireframe05 96 192 48 48 fyard2w4 fedwireframe05 144 192 48 48 fyard2w5 fedwireframe05 192 192 48 48 change the text to this: b_fyard2 gbfyard200 0 0 64 64 b_fyard2_2 gbfyard200 0 0 64 64 and fyard2w1 fedwireframe05 0 192 48 48 fyard2w2 fedwireframe05 48 192 48 48 fyard2w3 fedwireframe05 96 192 48 48 fyard2w4 fedwireframe05 144 192 48 48 fyard2w5 fedwireframe05 192 192 48 48 fyard2_2w1 fedwireframe05 0 192 48 48 fyard2_2w2 fedwireframe05 48 192 48 48 fyard2_2w3 fedwireframe05 96 192 48 48 fyard2_2w4 fedwireframe05 144 192 48 48 fyard2_2w5 fedwireframe05 192 192 48 48 Now play the game to see if it works! Re: What's the story on the number of ships you can put in the game? ok thats all well and good but i am having real trouble adding another construction ship, i have already got 2 from big mods i hav e downloaded for some of the ships and the weapons and i want to use one to make stuff like the two tower shipyards and tiona and some others i have got so that my game becomse mor like sterfleet is, lots of diffenert classes with lots of differnent stuff and combinations, so far i cant get another construction ship in the game, any ideas |
Re: What's the story on the number of ships you can put in the game? You must put something like const2.odf in the base's build list and have odf and sod of the same name. If it uses different textures to appear different from the regular const ship they need to be in the textures/rgb folder. In the const2's odf you need to list out what it can build. Don't forget you can use the build button and wireframe from the regular ship by adding the line b_fconst2 in the global gui with copying the original ships's 0 0 64 64 bla bla bla. Then copy all the wireframe stuff from the original ship but as const2 instead of const. Add fconst2.odf to you tech trees and it should work. |
