F1 Season is Nearly Go!

I have just joined and I noticed you don't have an F1 section here. As the first race is a week away, I thought I'd start one :)

Does anyone here like F1?

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Renault F1 Team FTW! Can't wait to spend my sundays again :) Now they are useless, with F1 going again, they surve a purpose :nodding:

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

he he I know EXACTLY what you mean.
Renault are going to be strong again, but Honda will be way up there.

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Honda? Dude when was the last time you had a CAT scan? :p

Most likely it will be McLaren - Mercedes / Ferrari - Ferrari / Renault - Renault
for the poles.

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Honda have been breaking lap records all week. I think they'll be there. :D Whe you discover you are wrong, don't feel you have to eat your hat or anything :p

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Well I wouldn't even if I lost ;) The Renault cap costs 12€ and I ain't planning on getting a new one ;)

But seriously Fernando will whoop some formula 1 ass again this season :nodding:

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Of course you MAY be right. But I firmly believe Honda will be up there fighting at the front.

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Year or two ago I was quite interested about F1, but not so much anymore. McLaren messes up and Kimi Raikkonen loses his top place. I just hope that it isn't the same story in this season, again.

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Well that is what kept the tention around last season. I really enjoyed myself watching last season. Renault and McLaren battling over titles, hell yeah this season should be fun aswell :nodding:

McLaren are going to whip ass this season. I've supported them since I was born.

As long as McLaren overcome reliability, Renault will simply not be able to handle Raikonnen - he's just too good. Where the McLaren car has performed well without issues, Raikonnen has almost always won.

Oh, and there's the small issue that McLaren are signing Alonso next season (it's been confirmed ;))

KoЯsakoff March 5th, 2006 08:49 AM

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Yeah I know, and it makes me sad tbh.. Renault should have pulled Raikonen, not vica versa.. :(

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Indeed. I think it will be Kimi's year, he certainy deserves it after last year. Merc need to get a grip on the unreliabilty before that happens though. This is why Honda are looking strong. They have done a lot of very long runs and they have also been very quick. JB has to win a race this year also to ovecome his critics.

F1 is very cool, but I don't really follow it. I vote for the canadian, if any haha.

Who is Schumacher driving for now? Still Ferrari? It's been a few years since I followed the sport. I think last time I took notice Schumacher was on the way to his third or fourth Championship title. It got boring, there was no competition.

Yeah, supposedly its Schumi's last year, and he came in 3rd last year, and barely won a championship the year before that.

Seems like alot of you are cheering for Kimi....:lookaround:

Unfortunetly, i've never liked either Mika or Kimi (maybe its a Finnish thing?), because they just aren't very...appreciative? First it was Mika who blamed his team for every fault and Kimi does the same thing, just not as much. If he wasn't such a pill, I would probably like him.

Regardless, i'm going for Schumi this year, one last championship, because retiring on a good note is always a good thing. If not him, then Honda, because its about time they start winning, and stop blowing engines!

KoЯsakoff March 5th, 2006 03:17 PM

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Well Kimi deserves to blame his team, the car just blows and blows over and over again. You can't blame Kimi for pushing the right way.

And I'm not a huge fan of Kimi (Alonso is my man :D) but I think he's one hell of a F1 driver.

HugeF1 March 5th, 2006 11:46 PM

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Me too. He blamed McLaren because it was McLaren's fault. It's very very difficult to blow engines by driving badly nowadays.

KoЯsakoff March 6th, 2006 12:03 AM

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

He just blows them just by pushing so hard, the engines can't handle Kimi

I'm hoping for a close season, for that to happen, tyres need to be on the same level. It will be interesting to see which teams has been "sand bagging" in the test period and which have been driving fast just to please the sponsors.
Only few more days left, and only 12 moths before Kovalainen gets a race seat. :D

HugeF1 March 6th, 2006 05:57 AM

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

I think you're right about the tyres, Michelin have been strong in the last couple of years, but with tyre changes now allowed in the races again, Bridgestone will be fighting for the leads again. Question is, have Ferrari built a decent car this time? cos last year's was crap!

KoЯsakoff March 6th, 2006 11:39 AM

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

I hope not.. Ferrari can kiss my ass.. They've been around long enough, about time they got their ass kicked.

Tankmeister March 6th, 2006 12:09 PM

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Yeah, need Ferrari to get their act together next year when Kimi drives it. :D

McLaren and Renault ftw. :)

Not huge on F1, but I do enjoy almost all types of motorsports.

V8 Super Tourers (Australian V8 Supercars) ftw! :)

KoЯsakoff March 7th, 2006 05:23 PM

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

Please no other thing then Formula 1 now.. You've got shitloads of other threads where you can discuss V8's.. Formula 1 strickly :nodding:

Formula 1 is ok. I prefer nascar though, more entertaining.

Just 2 days left before the seasons first GP!! w00t, now I'm really getting ( /me cant find a word for it )

First free practice done, nothing of any importance so far

Still fun to watch.. I wish I could watch it, but I'm stuck at school and after that work.

Re: F1 Season is Nearly Go!

The new qually system is a absolute joke, i couldn't make up a more artificial "spectacle" if i wanted. It's overly complicated, first two stints are pointless, the last session is complete bollocks since the drivers crawl around 3 secs slower to burn fuel for the last two hot laps with fresh tyres.
