I dunno if that will clear things up, but he pretty much said what I wanted to say.
Yes, thanks for that. It pointed out more effectively what I was thinking, and reminded me of when I played a little bit of football too. It was brutal, but nothing compared with rugby...which requires much more endurance (played it once, got a broken nose) and somewhat more intelligence (trying not to get killed). In football, you can risk a bit more because of the pads.
But football does have bigger, more powerful dudes, so the hitting would be harder.
That's not the only reason why they wear all the pads, IMO, though--half those pads are redundant and almost impede or restrict more than they might help (same as hockey)--they wear them because it's an enormous business, of course, and the stakes are very high. A team can't afford to lose a star player to injury, so everyone except for kickers/punters are practically encased in bubble wrap. Well, you know what I mean
LOL! Soccer involves the use of the legs which is why I like it, and the sport gives you a lot of room to do complex manuevers that you can't really do in basketball, baseball, or football because you are limited to certain restrictions. It is the most popular sport in the world. Usually I refer to it as Euro Footy because technically it is called football.
It is a fast paced sport. An international sport. And in my opinion the best of the best. I wish it were more popular here, because the leagues we do have don't get much attention.
Could you explain to me why Americans call it soccer as the only country in the world? Anywhere else its called football... Should't American football be soccer instead?
And yeah Euro footy owns U.S footy
Btw I luv footy

I still think they should scrap the padding Aussie rules footie have o padding and that is just a brawl.
Another thing i hate about American football is the amount of stoppages and adverts in between arrrgghh
