Yes, thanks for that. It pointed out more effectively what I was thinking, and reminded me of when I played a little bit of football too. It was brutal, but nothing compared with rugby...which requires much more endurance (played it once, got a broken nose) and somewhat more intelligence (trying not to get killed). In football, you can risk a bit more because of the pads.

But football does have bigger, more powerful dudes, so the hitting would be harder.

That's not the only reason why they wear all the pads, IMO, though--half those pads are redundant and almost impede or restrict more than they might help (same as hockey)--they wear them because it's an enormous business, of course, and the stakes are very high. A team can't afford to lose a star player to injury, so everyone except for kickers/punters are practically encased in bubble wrap. Well, you know what I mean :D

Could you explain to me why Americans call it soccer as the only country in the world? Anywhere else its called football... Should't American football be soccer instead?

Like I said our guys are a lot stronger and bigger than your soccer players.
If they didn't wear padding there would be deaths every game.
Your little soccer players against our Football players with no pads would = your guys coming home in a body bag, seriously.

As for commercials, I agree too many but prime time air time is expensive. But you knew that right?
In reality they are different games and should not be compared.
We americans don't expect you to love our game but to say oure guys are wimps makes you look really stupid.

Real football isn't American football. The term football was coined with the European sport long before American football was invented.

As for soccer being a pussy sport, they may not get kicked a lot but the amount of running the soccer players do is a lot more than a football player, it is much more tiring. Being a soccer player myself and a football player at one point, I can say with no doubt that soccer is much more physically enduring. Too much stopping in football.

Put a Football player in a game of soccer and he will destroy anyone he comes in contact with. Although he may not be able to run with the best of them.
Football players do not train to run the whole game like Soccer. It's a different game with different training stop comparing them.
Yes real Football is American I don't care where the term came from.

curling's not so bad. More interesting than golf - and both are sports, not matter what some choose to believe.

'soccer' is wimpy? Get bent, guys. Obviously you've never played a sport where you have to run for mre than ten seconds, then rest like a pussy. Euro football is hardcore, no pads, lots of running - in a game against american 'football' players, the Euros would kick complete ass. The U.S. players would collapse from fatigue after a half-hour or less.

"o but the american players are tuffer, bigger, stronger!!!11" Fuck off. They're too slow and too stupid to get close enough to hit anyone. Euros would run circles around those overgrown steroid-injected bubbleheads. It would be no contest..

3 most hated anyday would have to be:

Golf- I'm going to hit a ball into a hole.... how fun :D

ice hockey- Painful... and what about the losers who can't ice skate- didn't think of them did they!!!

Boxing- Ok , fair enough if you have a disaggrement and you clobber someone and get into a fight, but a little pointless to just randomly fight someone in a ring for half and hour. Plus the only thing you recieve for winning is- Brain Damage!!! Lol

American Football dumbest sport ever invented, first off they are pussies and wear pads and you run for like 20 seconds and then rest there is never a continuous running.
