Re: Schofield bans administrators I'm like the crossover generation, I'll use whatever unit makes the most sense in a particular situation. I hate when technical brochures use inappropriate units. Like 'this car is 4325 mm long'. Really? You couldn't just say 4.3 meters? I use feet often because they're a handy size between a meter/yard and centimeters/inches. I use miles or kilometers depending on whom I'm talking to, and gallons/liters, pounds/kilos too. The older folk don't really use metric and in the whole wood/lumber/logging industry SI units are still standard for the working man, only converted to metric for the company and consumer later. But all that rod/furlong/hogshead/bushel stuff I'm clueless about. |
