Partly because most the topics don't interest me, partly because I got sick of butting heads with people I like, partly because I tend to hold grudges and let arguments get to me.

That is actually the reason I don't post in the Pub. Any argument I can't win with dry humor, cursing and cruelty is not one I care to participate in.

Better things to do than spend the little time I have free these days bring serious on the internet.

Plus I feel like I'm not allowed in the pub if I write anything less than 3 paragraphs and fail to reason my argument perfectly.

Personal choice. You can't force people to like the Pub. =p

To explain it a bit better, for example, if a Pub topic is about current affairs, politics, etc. then I've already discussed these topics to death in real life, at work or socially, and typing things is a much more laborious medium to talk about things in great depth than say in person verbally.

I mean fuck the pub isn't the only forum, we have like no activity in GD, gaming, entertainment, etc.- what, are these forums too "mean" for all of you too?

I don't consider myself mature enough to venture into the pub and while I consider myself a very civil and careful person (And very hard to get butthurt), I'm always scared I'll get insulted or treated bad thanks to my social awkwardness. Also that I'll "lose" an argument ("lose" in quotation marks because it's not a big deal to lose an argument... I think it's a bigger win to "lose" one when the other person actually has a valid point since it's a good opportunity to learn something new). Also that I always find that mostly everyone underestimates me greatly, hence I rather not post there since the slightest mistake in a word will make me look like an idiot. And lastly, I'm always scared to insult someone.

Nope, I'm just boring as hell and have nothing to add. I could go ahead and post anyway, but I assume you'd rather not have complete spam there. Am I correct in this assumption?

As for the reason I put that last thread of mine in here and not in GD... Well, I honestly didn't think there was much to discuss. Also, I figured it would be viewed as "Oh look, Ryojin's being emo again. Let's point and laugh" like it usually is.

Somehow the Pub has taken on the same reputation that the Melee used to have, without becoming appreciably more unfriendly than it ever has been.

What I'm saying is that people need to have thicker skins.

I post in the pub when there is a interesting topic/discussion in there however I find myself going "tl;dr" far too often, I am a man with limited time as it is and an eve MORE limited concentration.

I do post in the pub when there is something to learn/contribute there. And yes, i agree with Granny about the attitude of some people.

I mean, i don't argue about anything. I discuss things. And then some people start to argue and debate as if its a matter which would decide the fate of the universe.

Now i don't think (and neither intend to) i offend people or address rudely to them. Still i got a warning pm once from a staff member that my "tone" of posting was rude and that i need to be more civil and respectful towards other members.

Well. If all they want me to do is not to post in the pub anymore, i'm not too keen on continuing to do that, either.

Yeah, I tend to be that kind of person, whether or not I show it all that much. Lately, though, I have been giving very few fucks about things, so perhaps I may be in there more often if there happen to be any topics that I am actually interested in... And don't tell me to make the topics, I have no imagination so they would suck.

I agree with this wholeheartedly, but when your own moderators are doing it, I think you need to look at the problem more closely.

If I've never used it in the first place, I can't ragequit, the topics in there are simply too heavy or whatever for me to want to participate, simple as that. I just come here for a bit of a giggle and occasional gaming stuff.




No, but unless you have a solid topic to discuss, there is, for me anyway, a feeling that you should post in spam because your thread will get moved there anyway by a moderator. ;) weather that would happen now, I don't know, but it's something that I personally have had instilled in me over many many years.

One reason those forums might be inactive is that they don't get activity. Er. Let me explain. You wouldn't post on a forum nobody goes to. You want a response after all. Spamming Forum is reasonably active so people come here. On the other hand GD, gaming, entertainment and pub have a few topics each that have been posted to in the last week. I think part of why nobody visits is that they feel stagnant.

For the amount of activity FFGF gets it might have too many subforums.
