Partly because most the topics don't interest me, partly because I got sick of butting heads with people I like, partly because I tend to hold grudges and let arguments get to me.

It's not a requirement that you do. As long as you act in a civil manner, you won't get the banstick.

That is actually the reason I don't post in the Pub. Any argument I can't win with dry humor, cursing and cruelty is not one I care to participate in.

Better things to do than spend the little time I have free these days bring serious on the internet.

Plus I feel like I'm not allowed in the pub if I write anything less than 3 paragraphs and fail to reason my argument perfectly.

Personal choice. You can't force people to like the Pub. =p

To explain it a bit better, for example, if a Pub topic is about current affairs, politics, etc. then I've already discussed these topics to death in real life, at work or socially, and typing things is a much more laborious medium to talk about things in great depth than say in person verbally.
