Did you you know that Jebus is actually an alternative name for Jerusalem and the residents were called Jebusites? It's true.

Also, Beelzebub, which has become a synonym for the devil, means 'Lord of the Flies' but it actually relates to a word or phrase that meant 'Lord of the High Place', which contained the word 'Baal' meaning 'Lord' which was a catch all word describing the God that the Philistines worshiped. And of course Philistines has been used as a catch all word for the multitudinous tribes that lived in and around ancient Israel even though it was actually the name of one specific people.
