Aircraft carrier internet question

So I noticed in this thread that while deployed you can get a ~.35Mbps Internet connection, but on a carrier you can only get a 9.60 Kbps connection. Granted one is provided by a private company, but that still seems ridiculously slow. Is the reason it can't be upgraded security related?

What's the chance of an electrician getting deployed?

You should know how tricky it is to lay a cable from your local carrier to the nearest server station... and sattelite internet is pretty damn crappy too...

Depends, if you are navy, high. If you are Marine corps, it varies depending on the infastructure in a particular area.
