'w' Why is the letter W pronnounced 'double-U'? Shouldn't it be pronnounced 'double-V' instead? I mean, this is a double-U: UU. This is a double-V: VV. Which one looks more like a W? The VV, of course. And why don't we start doubling-up some more letters to make the English language even more complicated than it already is? We could have AAs, BBs, and most importantly of all, DDs! LET'S KILL SOME PEOPLE AND MAKE IT HAPPEN! AGGH! http://www.gidesigns.net/images/pine...or-knocker.jpg |
Re: 'w' Once again, the French people are right. As usual. |
Re: 'w' It's pronounced like that to annoy people. |
Re: 'w' shut your french trap, Biggus! :D Germans pronounce it "veh", where the v is a soft one, like in vehicle. |
Re: 'w' Actually, I'm not surprised that the "double-u" comes from a country where people are driving on the wrong side of the road...Oh, and the German...I'd prefer to NOT talk about them. |
Re: 'w' me thinks it comes from the whole Latin thing, what with the v's being u's and shizzle (like Nordicvs' username) |
