Join Date: June 18th, 2007 Status: Available Rep Power: 0 | I strap my sword onto my belt, and Ferkik’don hefts his massive axe. Hadhod steps in front of us both, uttering a simple spell to clear the foliage in our path away. Upon reaching the path, he turns in the direction the Shadows were headed. “Hold up! Shouldn’t we be moving away from them?” Ferkik’don inquires. “We must stop them from reaching their destination. Ungard’s militia will not be able to defend itself if we don’t interfere.” “Good idea,” I announce, following Hadhod down the hoof-beaten road. Ferkik’don grumbles something inaudible, and then follows after Hadhod and me. After some time of walking, Hadhod halts and holds up his hand. “Wait. Hear that?” I listen for a moment, and then I recognize the sound. Hooves. “Run!” I shout, “They’re coming back!” As abruptly as it began, the sound stops. The three of us listen intently, but there is not a sound in the whole forest. Even the birds have stopped singing. |
