Like everyone else has said, why not just unblock them and ask them? You aren't in any real danger chatting through MSN, for goodness sake, and it's probably someone you know anyway.

That's what I always do, anyway. I always just assume that it's someone who goes to some forums I frequent (since I always post my contact info on my profiles), so I add them and ask them who they are next time they're online. Then block them at that time if you don't know them.
