| I bought my system 3 years ago and it has been working fine up until now. I got Fallout 3, started playing it, and noticed that it froze occasionally, gradually getting more frequent. I quit playing Fallout 3 and played CoD:WaW. I played a zombie match and it didn't freeze, but when the match was over the loading screen popped up and it froze. Can anyone help? ![]() ![]() |

| It's possible there might be some dust inside your disc reader, or some filt lifted it's way inside with a cd. You could try to look for a cleaning cd and use it to see if there are any improvements. Another cause could be your system overheating, when the PS3 is in an enclosed area it will be more difficult for it to distribute it's heat away and usually the fan will start blowing very quickly. If this is the case you should try to find a place more openly and away from dust. Lastly it could be possible that the laser that reads the disc has gone faulty and needs to be replaced. This will have to be done by a Sony repair station and usually means you will have to miss your PS3 for 2 to 3 weeks. |

| Fallout 3 froze on me many times. I haven't had any problems with any other games freezing, but its most likely the previously mentioned problems or just the poor stability of Fallout 3 itself.
