I have been playing with a (AMD 1.4)for a long time. And i would not normally go on a server were my ping is over 150.But alot of times,I would have the drop on someone and get the first shot..even up close with the shottie..they would turn around and ....eeeh i down.I know you guyz are going to see this and say im a noob..but i bought the game when it came out..i played the demo before it came out..i have cable connection..I think i have a nice card ati 9000 pro 128.I just bought a pentium 2.4b...will it help..you guyz have the same problem??I know i have seen more than once people would say..B S no way i had you.. WHAT ARE THE TOP PLAYERS PLAYING WITH.??
I have a 1.4 too. The quickness is not dependant on the speed (unless u have a really really slow computer) of the computer. A fast processor is nice, but not necessary. They way i say to fix this is to go optical on the mouse, as mechanical is slower. and Maybe turn your sensitity up to a comfortable but quick level.
actually, cpu speed will improve your game if you have a winmodem since winmodems depend on cpu to operate. Furthermore, there is 2 kind of lag, connection latency and framerate latency, in wich case a fast cpu and vid card are directly involved.
volcano dude is right.. processor is important but is only part of the game, vid card is also important but is only part of the game and connection speed and server location all r only a small part of the game but if u take all that and put it together then u got a great game. i got a P3 600MHZ, 256mb ram and dsl connection, nvidia TNT pro and still able to kick ass... besides... it helps a bit thinking and looking b4 u go into battle.. a great soldier is 1 that observes his sourrounding.
This makes me mad..the same as people campin and using noob guns thats why its in this forum..I know I can play this game with the best of them..I think someone here does not like SGT.HULKA..thats too bad im a nice guy.
what's the role of the board in the speed? My fps sucks sometimes, escpecially in crowded servers (so no ping lag but fps lag). My processor has clockspeed of almost 1.2 Ghz and i have MSI GF4 440MX videocard (and of course cable connection). Is putting all hardware on a new board a solution to get better fps in full servers (20 players)? Or is it a waste of money?
