Question. Please help. Some how I have a mod in my SOF2 files that affects my mp5 and SIG weapons. With the MP5 the gun and and hand are not in the screen and it is difficult to switch weapons and the SIG, when I try to use the scope it doesn't come up very fast and in general just does not work well. I think this only happens when I am in rocmod servers. What I would like to know is if anybody might know the name of the file so I can remove it. I am new here and don't know a whole lot about how to manipulate my game files. If this question belongs somewhere else and would produce a faster response else where then please let me know. Thank you for your time and effort. |
Re: Question. Please help. Remove each custom file 1 by 1 until the problem goes away. |
Re: Question. Please help. Yeah, that is a problem because there are so many. I have (over the years) been to so many different servers, there are very many files in there. It would take an extraordinary amount of time to do that. That is what I originally intended to do, but like I said there are very many and I am not sure which folder to even start with. I am pretty sure it is not in my rocmod folder, because I did that to get rid of some undesirables in the first place. I am hoping somebody knows the mod that does that to what I described. Thanks. Re: Question. Please help. If it happens on RoCMod servers, then the file is in one of these folders; \RoCMod\ \base\mp\ \base\ Chose a detailed listing in your explorer and sort by dates. That should give you a pretty good clue about what file causes the problem if you remember when it started. |
Re: Question. Please help. No not really, because it has been like that for a long time. I was hoping somebody might know what the mod name is. The MP5 and the SIG are the only weapons that are affected. The guns themselves are not in the screen. I think that is what the intention of that particular file. I picked it up when I used to visit other servers and downloaded what ever came with that server. I did not intentionally put it in there myself. I am actually looking for mods on soffiles that might describe what I am talking about. That hasn't proven to be very easy either. |
Re: Question. Please help. The best way to go about it is to do as ACE suggested. For all the time you are wasting on soffiles looking for mods, you may have found the troubled file already. |
Re: Question. Please help. Yeah, I have done both. Looking and removing file after file and then finding that I needed one and replacing. I haven't spent near as much time looking for the file here as trying the remove and replace method. Thank you guys very much for your input. I am still hoping by some miracle some one will have had a similar problem and know what it is. I am not holding my breath. |
Re: Question. Please help. It might be a weaponmod that is causing prediction errors on your client when you are not playing on servers that have that particular mod installed. Those files will typically be below 20KB size and contains some of these files: \ext_data\sof2.ammo \ext_data\sof2.wpn \inview\SOF2.inview You don't have to test without one file at a time. Divide and conquer :-) Start by removing half of the suspected files. See if the problem is still there. You now know in which half to find the file you are looking for. Then keep doing the same until you find it. This way the number of tests you need to run is the square root of the number of files you need to test. |
Re: Question. Please help. I did take that approach by moving suspected files a handful at a time too. I still haven't found it yet, but with your new information, I might have a better chance now. Thank you very much for your time and input. I am going to give it another shot. |
